Puerto Varas & Isla de Chiloé, southern Chile

Eli and I spoiled ourselves with this trip to southern Chile.  It is such a beautiful part of the country and probably my favorite.  We had a great time getting to know the local culture of Chiloé Island, which is quite distinct from mainland Chile, eating the fantastic seafood of the south, finding all the ancient wooden churches (UNESCO protected for their unique architecture – we’re talking wooden pegs in the place of nails and shingles for days!), and exploring the countryside!  A pretty special place to spend Christmas with my amorcito.
